Former Geelong Falcons Jasper Pittard - now at the Port Adelaide Football Club - is the Round Four NAB AFL Rising Star nominee.
Playing across half-back, the left-footer had 25 possessions (including 19 kicks) in Port Adelaide’s 32-point victory over the Crows on Saturday.
Jasper, 20, was named as an emergency on five occasions late last the season, but has played all four matches this season since making his AFL debut in Round One.
Port Adelaide coach Matthew Primus said Jasper has successfully made the transition to AFL football.
"Jasper has developed very well over the pre-season and has worked particularly hard on the defensive side of his game.
"He's a terrific young man with great qualities and we look forward to him continuing his development during the remainder of the season," he said.
Originally from the Torquay Junior Football Club in Victoria, Jasper was Port Adelaide’s first selection (sixteenth overall) in the 2009 NAB AFL Draft. In 2009 he represented Vic Country in the NAB AFL Championships and played for the Geelong Falcons in the TAC Cup.
Following each round of the home and away season, a panel of judges will select a NAB AFL Rising Star nominee. At the completion of the season, one of these nominees will be chosen as the 2011 NAB AFL Rising Star.
