The AFL today released the names of the Medium Defenders who will attend the 2011 NAB AFL Draft Combines to be held at national and state level beginning October 4.
The national list includes six players from Victoria, three from South Australia, two from Northern Territory, one from Tasmania and one from Western Australia.
A further 22 Medium Defenders will attend State Draft Combines in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth in October.
AFL National Talent Manager, Kevin Sheehan, said Medium Defenders who have been invited to this year’s Draft Combines are likely to attract a great deal of attention.
“AFL Clubs will look at all aspects of the way the Medium Defenders test but no doubt the Nathan Buckley Kicking Test is one that will be a special focus for those players, given the responsibility to clear the defensive 50 .
“Their repeat speed measured by the 30 metres by six efforts, combined together with their finishing skills, will be closely dissected at the Draft Combine,” he said.
