Former Carlton and Port Adelaide player Nick Stevens has been announced as the new Gippsland Power coach in the TAC Cup for season 2012. The new role will see Stevens further develop his association with the under 18 competition, having coached NSW/ACT for the past two seasons in the NAB AFL National Under 18 Championships.
Stevens comes to the club with over 200 games of AFL experience, having started his career at Port Adelaide where he played 127 games before he returned to his home state of Victoria to Carlton, where he played 104 games before his retirement in 2009.
Stevens comes to the club having this year been involved as a part time midfield coach with Richmond. He will be formally welcomed to the club this weekend at Gippsland Powers player and parents information day on Sunday.
