Bendigo will become a battleground for the elite of Victorian Country Football as they aim to impress selectors. AFL Victoria will be holding the Under 16 Country Carnival at Queen Elizabeth Oval in Bendigo from the 13th – 15th April. The Bendigo Pioneers, Dandenong Stingrays, Geelong Falcons, Gippsland Power, Murray Bushrangers and North Ballarat Rebels will each present a team to compete in this round-robin carnival.
At the end of the competition, Country Victoria selectors will pick a squad of 45 players that will undertake various preparation and selection sessions, including; fitness testing, skill training workshops and trial matches.
Overtime the squad will gradually decrease until the final team of 25 are selected to represent Country Victoria at the National Under 16 Championships in West Sydney.
