TARRAWINGEE needs to bounce back quickly from their first loss of the season when it travels to Glenrowan to take on a surging Kelly Tigers team.
The Bulldogs were in control of their match against Bonnie Doon until halftime, with a 5.5 (35) to 1.7 (13), 22-point lead before the Bombers responded in the second half with a 10.3 to 3.4 to steal away for a 19-point victory.
Glenrowan welcomed back Nigel Robinson last week and Karl Norman into their side in the past month and have found their form quickly resulting in a 205-point win over Greta.
Norman and Robinson combined for 10 goals, and both will be better for getting through the game unscathed as the Tigers prime for another premiership tilt.
Last week’s loss has highlighted lessons that need to be learned, Bulldogs coach Trevor Edwards said.
“We played as well as we have all year in the first half,” Edwards said.
“It was how we wanted to play, but 10 minutes before halftime, and the second half we went away from what we do so well with our ball movement.
“The effort was there, but our skills and composure dropped right off, we now know what we need to do and how we need to play to get back to our best football.”
