PRIZED SIGNING: Alistair Jacka (left) with Benalla All Blacks coach Harry Moran.
WITH preseason training about to kick off, Benalla All Blacks have pulled off a major coup by securing the prized signature of Goulburn Valley gun Alistair Jacka.
Jacka arrives at Friendlies Reserve with a resume bursting with accolades, having played 127 senior matches at Benalla Saints, booting 144 goals, winning a club best and fairest in 2012 and a premiership in 2015.
A utility who will give the Panthers a huge boost both in the middle of the ground and up forward, Jacka shapes as the ideal replacement for Jayden Guppy, who has returned to Benalla Saints after one season in the Ovens and King.
But Jacka isn’t the only big name to be crossing from the Saints, with Chris Lockhart set to join him at the Panthers.
Second year coach Harry Moran said the duo would more than fill the void left by Guppy.
“Both Al and Chris are very high calibre players,” Moran said.
