AFL Academy takes to big stages

A group of TAC Cup players have stepped out for the NAB AFL Academy in games at AFL grounds over the last two weeks.

The Academy celebrated its 20th anniversary with an intra-Academy match at the MCG on Sunday April 9, when the competing teams were named after former AFL Academy and TAC Cup players Joe Daniher (ex-Calder Cannons/now Essendon) and Jacob Weitering (ex-Dandenong Stingrays/now Carlton).

The Academy then faced Peter Jackson VFL team the Northern Blues at Etihad Stadium on Saturday, with Western Jets midfielder/forward Cameron Rayner appointed captain of the Academy team for the night.
