How will you Wipe off 5?

THE TAC is sharing the Wipe off 5 message directly with Victorians as part of a ground-breaking low-level speeding campaign.

The Wipe off 5 slogan has been brought to life with giant, 3D letters on a road trip across Victoria this month.

Several TAC Cup clubs have already jumped on board and signed the ‘Wipe off 5’ letters.

Craigieburn’s Highgate Recreation Reserve will play host to the roadshow next Sunday during the TAC Cup double-header to round off the home and away season.

TAC CEO Janet Dore urged everyone involved in the TAC Cup to back the campaign.

“About 100 hundred people die on our roads every year in crashes where speed was a contributing factor and this is just not acceptable,” Ms Dore said.

“The TAC Cup message ‘Speed Hurts’ puts you in the driver’s seat of understanding what the Wipe off 5 campaign is about.

“We thank you for taking an active role in helping us drive down the road toll and hope you’ll be inspired to get more involved, with our community competition.

“You can win $5,000 for yourself, your workplace or your club by showing us how you’ll Wipe off 5 and sharing your ideas on social media.

Five $5000 prizes are on offer for the most creative way the Wipe off 5 message is articulated in people’s daily lives – entries can be shared online at www.wipeoff5.com.au or on Twitter or Instagram with #wipeoff5.

Whether it’s football clubs wiping off the number 5 from one of their player’s backs’ or gym instructors wiping off 5 minutes from their classes, Ms Dore said the brief required just one thing: creativity.

“We want every Victorian to come up with a way they can represent the Wipe off 5 message,” Ms Dore said.

“Leaving the house five minutes earlier, to ensure you aren’t rushing on your way to work, could be one way to help you avoid the temptation to speed.”

At the end of Wipe off 5 month, one winner will be awarded in each of the following categories: best individual, best group, best sporting club, best workplace, and best school entry.

Entries for the competition, which closes midnight August 31, will be published online at www.wipeoff5.com.au
