Finley’s Allister Clark is the latest Murray Bushranger to be promoted into a State League Competition after receiving a call up to the Greater Western Sydney NEAFL side. Clarke who has played eight games with the Bushrangers this season lives within the GWS zone region and was delighted to receive an opportunity at State League level.
Murray Bushrangers Talent Manager Lee Fraser highlighted that the NEAFL provides a great opportunity for players within the region and particularly those based in New South Wales. “As a club we see it as a key component of our program to get as much exposure for talented footballers within our region to experience the highest standard of football possible’.
“As a club we have noticed our captain Nick Mellington benefit greatly from his VFL experience, Nathan Drummond and Kieran Ellis are currently playing in the VFL’.Bushranger Coach Darren Ogier was glowing in his praise of Clarke, “Allister only came into our program this season and has demonstrated outstanding leadership and values both on and off the field”. “He is a person of great character who has played at a great level throughout the season both as a small defender and at times in the midfield”
Clarke is penciled into play for Giants this Saturday against the Sydney Hills Eagles at Blacktown Sport Arena and Ogier was confident he would acquit himself well. “Everytime Allister has been challenged this season he has lifted; it is a great opportunity for him to test himself at a higher level.
Fraser highlighted that there would be more state league opportunities for Bushrangers over coming weeks. ‘Darren Ogier and myself will continue to liaise with state league on a weekly basis and identify opportunities throughout the remainder of the 2014 season’
