North Albury’s Isaac Muller is the latest Murray Bushranger to be promoted into the VFL following a call up to the Essendon VFL team for this weekend’s clash with Richmond. Muller has been one of the inform ruckman in the TAC CUP with his tap work and leadership around the ground being a real highlight.
Murray Bushrangers Talent Manager Lee Fraser highlighted that the VFL pathway as a crucial aspect of the clubs program. “As a club we see it as a key component of the season is getting exposure for our more mature players into the VFL, there is a clear pathway between TAC CUP, VFL and then into the AFL system”.
“TAC CUP coach Darren Ogier and Ruck Coach Peter McIntyre have worked with Isaac in what is his first year in the Murray Bushrangers program. Isaac has been a standout performer since the early intra clubs matches and carried his form throughout the season’.
‘The former Henty star has ticked every box so far at both TAC CUP and Nationals Level, at this stage of the season this weekend provides Muller with invaluable experience an AFL environment and the opportunity perform against current listed AFL players.
Murray Bushrangers Talent Manager Lee Fraser emphasized the strong alignment between the TAC CUP and AFL clubs. “As a club we work closely with AFL clubs regarding our playing list, the Essendon Football Club have expressed interest in Isaac playing in their VFL side, the time is now right for Isaac to step into the VFL”.
At 197 centimeters Muller is likely to play a ruck / forward role with the Bombers. Isaac has a great opportunity to demonstrate his flexibility and hopefully further impress recruiters ahead of this year’s National Draft.
Muller is the 5th Murray Bushranger to get exposed to the VFL program this season, this weekend alone the Bushrangers have three players playing in the VFL. Isaac Muller (Essendon) will play against fellow Bushranger Dan Howe (Richmond) whilst Kieran Ellis will go across the Collingwood VFL team after two games with Essendon.
