The Murray Bushrangers TAC CUP squad will resume Pre-Season training this Sunday 11 January at the Wangaratta Sports Development Centre. Following a five week Pre-Christmas training program all players have been given a training program to follow over the Christmas and New Year Break.
Murray Bushrangers High Performance Manager Matt Glossop confirmed that it is important that the playing group come back in good shape. “We’ll go through a battery of fitness tests to see what shape the boys are in, whilst the November / December training was very positive it is crititical that each players has not only maintained their fitness levels but improved over the break’
Glossop stressed the professionalism required to participate in the pre-season program “The boys have been subjected to a variety of fitness testing and given feedback on their current standing according to a number of benchmarks. This testing will be repeated in the first session back, we can very quickly identify those who will be able to physically compete at TAC Cup level and those who are willing to work hard when nobody is watching.
The Bushrangers are pleased to continue their partnership with Albury Sports Science Clinic who will once again facilitate the ‘AFL COMBINE’ style of fitness testing which will include a beep test, 20 Metre Sprint, Agility and Vertical Jump. Equipment is also provided by the Picola and District Football League.
“It is great that our football club get access to their state of the art equipment where we can measure not only their performance output, but also look at how they move in athletic situations”.
