One of the most highly anticipated TAC CUP games of the season will take place this Saturday when the Murray Bushrangers head to Shepley Oval in Dandenong to take on the powerful Dandenong Stingrays. With the National Carnival now complete some of the most talented young footballers in Country Victoria will lock horns with a top 4 spot on the line.
The Murray Bushrangers welcome the return of 11 players including Victorian Country representatives Josh Schache (Seymour), Jy Simpkin (Mooroopna) & Wil Brodie (Shepparton). Six New South Wales/ACT players also return with Dylan McDonald (Albury), Zach Sproule (Albury), Lachlan Tiziani (Albury), Jake Marshall (Deniliquin), Shaun Mannagh (North Albury) and Josh Minogue (North Albury) all set to line up with the 2nd placed Bushrangers.
Coach Darren Ogier highlighted that the theme for the rest of the season has been clearly outlined to all players, “In this final phase of the season it is all about team actions, the players will be judged on how they play their role for the team”. “It is an exciting time for the club as we get to find out which players flourish when the pressure is on against strong opposition”.
“The Stingrays are an outstanding team and will be at full strength for this weekend’s clash, it is just the challenge we need at this critical stage of the season”
Shepparton youngster Harry Boyd will make his TAC CUP debut following consistent senior football with Shepparton Football Club in the strong Goulburn Valley competition. “Harry is an outstanding character who has done everything asked of him through the year, he has been patient and thoroughly deserves his opportunity at this level”
Albury young gun Fletcher Carroll also returns to the side following a week off with a quad injury.
This week’s game is at Shepley Oval in Dandenong and commences at 1.30pm.
