The Murray Bushrangers return to the Wangaratta Showgrounds in a must win clash against Country rival the Gippsland Power in Round 14 of TAC CUP action.
The Bushrangers welcome into the side Matt Neagle (Wodonga Raiders) and Harry Morrison who will make their TAC CUP debut. Bushranger coach Darren Ogier was pleased to have Neagle in the side “Our coaches have been keen to get Matt into the side for a few weeks, he has had some real consistency in his training over recent weeks which has been rewarded. Matt has played some really good senior Ovens & Murray Football at Wodonga Raiders this year where his improvement has been impressive, we look forward to watching him at this level”
“Harry Morrison has amazed everyone at the club since doing his knee in the Victorian Country Under 16 trial game last season, his work ethic and willingness to listen and improve has been outstanding. Harry does some exciting things on the training track and we can’t wait to see him in a Murray Bushrangers jumper.” Ogier said
Max Canfield (Yarrawonga), David Mennen (Benalla), Ethan Boxall (Wodonga Raiders) & Fletcher Carroll (Albury) all return from injury whilst Jakes Page has been selected following an impressive performance for the Victorian Country Academy last weekend. In a great boost for the young Bushrangers outfit Albury key defender Nick Coughlan will also return following some outstanding VFL form with Footscray.
“With three players stepping up in to State League football this weekend (Clayton Oliver, Dylan McDonald & Lachlan Tiziani) it is great to get some experience into the team with Coughlan, Canfield and Mennen all returning” Ogier said.
Following a disappointing performance against the Dandenong Stingrays in their last game Ogier is under no illusions that his team needs to improve. “The last game we played players went away from playing their role for the team, too many went into their shell focused internally”. “We have a great opportunity on our home ground to
re-establish ourselves as a good strong TAC CUP side”
The Murray Bushrangers take on Gippsland Power this Saturday 25 July at Norm Minn’s Oval in Wangaratta, the game commences at 12.00pm.
