Ranges Beat Knights
The Knights have slipped to a disappointing 0-3 start after losing to the Eastern Ranges
last weekend. After some wasted opportunities in the first quarter the Knights could never find their way back into the contest. A deadly accurate first quarter of 4.0 to the Ranges could only be match by 1.4 for the Knights.
The Ranges then put their foot down in the second term, kicking eight goals to one and putting the game well beyond reach for the Knights by half time. Despite the score line there was not a huge discrepancy in the stats, however the Knights efficiency, particularly when entering their forward 50 was well below par.
While the second half went slightly in favour of the Knights it wasn’t even enough to flatter the score line with the final score being 14.12.96 to the Ranges to 6.7.43 to the
Knights.Macleod’s Steve Kelly was named as best for the Knights after displaying plenty of hardness at the contest. Whittlesea’s Matthew Quinton and Hurstbridge’s Dylan Grimes were solid in the back line, despite coming under constant fire. Michael Still from Greensborough continued his good start to the season by kicking another three goals to take his season tally to nine.
