The Western Jets Football Club are pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Dervan as the new Football Operations Manager.
Matthew takes over from Jordan Doyle who has taken up a role with the RDFNL as Operations Manager.
Matthew has been involved at the club since 2015 after undertaking a Victoria University placement and has also worked at the VAFA as a key component to the competition's umpiring department.
He has completed an under graduate course at Victoria University with a Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Management.
He played his junior football at the Williamstown Juniors Football Club before switching to umpiring where he has quickly progressed to the elite level. A keen cricketer, he is currently a member of the Williamstown Cricket Club.
The club is also delighted to announce that Claudia Davey will become the first Female Talent Coordinator.
Claudia began her involvement at the club in 2016 also through a Victoria University placement where she worked as an office assistant whilst fulfilling a strength and conditioning role with the TAC Cup Girls team.
She has experience in sport management as well as strength and conditioning and has a passion for rowing, cricket and soccer. She currently manages Trinity Grammar School's sporting facilities and has also completed an under graduate course with a Bachelor of Sport Scienece (Human Movement), along with a Diploma of Health Studies and a certificate in Personal Training.
Talent Manager Shane Sexton is excited about the appointments of Dervan and Davey.

Both are extremly capable and have both demonstrated a strong work ethic and excellent knowledge of the game. Both will do an excellent job and serve the club well".
It has been a newsworthy period for the club after Cameron Rayner became the first Western Jets player to be drafted at Number 1 by the Brisbane Lions along with Lachlan Fogarty and Tristan Xerri finding AFL homes in the 2017 AFL National Draft.
