Last Wednesday evening the club hosted to the 2018 Barry Round Medal Presentation Night at Williamstown's Seaview Events Centre. Connor Thar, capped off a tremendous 2018 season taking out the night's major honour with 337 votes. Captain Xavier O'Halloran was the runner-up with 244 votes. Jack Watkins (Most Consistent Award winner) rounded out the Top 3.
Former Talent Manager Shane Sexton was inducted as a Life Member after 17 years of service at the club whilst Caitlin O'Farrell was a worthy winner of the Club Person of the Year award. Up and coming products Massimo D'Ambrosio and Lucas Failli took out the U/15 and U/16 Players of the Year respectively. Hamish Murphy, Zak Butters and Darcy Cassar also took home awards throughout the evening.
The club welcomed back Cameron Rayner and Lachlan Fogarty who gave those in attendance a glimpse into first year life as an AFL footballer and the challenges they faced in their new lifestyles.
Special congratulations are in order for Liam Duggan (right in photo) (2014) and Daniel Venables (left) (2016) who were members of the West Coast Eagles 2018 Premiership side last Saturday afternoon at the MCG. Both boys have played pivotal roles throughout the season and have established themselves well into the senior side. Congrats fellas!
And finally current Development Coach Matthew Cape was inducted as a Life Member into the Williamstown Football Club last week. Capey, represented the Seagulls in 132 games across eight seasons and was Captain of two of the club's Reserves Premierships in the 1990's. Well deserved Matt!
