A hard day for the Jets as the Ranges swept past them with little difficulty in the second half to win by 43 points. The wet weather conditions combined with heavy winds was always going to make it tough on the girls, but the Ranges proved their better in the rain.
From the opening bounce, it was the Ranges who struck first blood. Jets forward Laura Wright had the chance to hit back but failed to convert in front of goal. The midfield to forward transition was still a problem for the Jets, the midfield's hard work in the center of the ground was yielding no rewards up forward. The second term proved to be a tug of war as both teams only managed two behinds for the quarter. Although only five points in front to finish the first half, the Ranges were ready to kick it up a notch in the third term.
It was here where the Jets spirits broke as the Ranges kicked four unanswered goals. Isabella Grant tried desperately to will her team back into the contest, but a lack of support had the Ranges in complete control of the game. The onslaught continued as the Ranges kicked two more majors and kept the Jets goalless to end the game.
Hero of the Day: Nikita Wright
Even though she didn't get plenty of the ball, Wright competed well in the forward half to try and keep the intensity of the Jets up. Unfortunately, it was in her forward line so little that she couldn't put her efforts on the scoreboard.
