Last weekend the Western Jets got a wake-up call from the Ranges. This week they will face the Calder Cannons at RAMS Arena. The Cannons have started off the season with two losses as they continue their search for their first win. However, the Jets have learned their lesson from last Sunday and won't be underestimating this opponent.

Possible key matchups
Darcy Cassar vs Joshua Kemp
With three goals to his name, Kemp has become the spearhead up forward for the Calder Cannons. Cassar has proven equally as good in the defensive half. Against the Ranges Cassar was given a new role in defense and proved to be a revelation for the Jets backline. Even if Cassar doesn't play on Kemp, it will be interesting to see if he can replicate his previous performance.
Emerson Jeka vs Brodie Newman
Newman is Calder's defensive weapon off half-back, he reads the ball well and averages 21.5 disposals a game. Jekka has had a slow start to the season but with his previous performances last year, it's only a matter of time before he gets his momentum back. Beating Calders best defender could be the start Jeka needs.
Daniel Mott vs Daly Andrews
Andrews had a good game against the Ranges despite the center clearance domination. He fought out the game to the bitter end. In his second year, Andrews looks prepared to raise the bar on his efforts. This week Mott looks the likely matchup for him as Andrews seems the most dangerous of the Jets midfield.
